What to Wear for Your Headshot Session

Simple, Clean, and Totally You

When it comes to headshots, I truly believe that less is more. Choosing simple, solid-colored clothing helps keep the focus right where it belongs—on you. Bold patterns, loud prints, or overly trendy pieces can distract from your face, your eyes, and your expression. We want your image to connect with the viewer, not compete with your outfit.

I usually recommend bringing two to three outfit options to your session. We’ll talk through those choices during your planning call and figure out what works best based on your goals and the overall look you’re going for.

Jewelry and makeup should feel natural and true to your style—unless you’re intentionally making a bold statement. I’m happy to recommend trusted hair and makeup artists in Oklahoma City if you’d prefer to have that taken care of, but it’s totally optional. It just depends on how much you’d like to handle yourself or delegate.
